Our first, in what will be a series of galleries dedicated to aircraft imagery. This particular aerial image gallery is from a recreational plane-chase exercise in Otero County, New Mexico. The region flown lies between Alamogordo, NM and Ruidoso, NM. Shooting this set of images was a bit of a challenge as the the Autofocus kept malfunctioning, so I had to focus the "old-Fashioned-Way" for most of the flight. So much for technology! ;-)
P.S. I use the term "desert" in the keywords -- even though most of these pictures do not appear desert-like in the traditional, stereo typical sense. Let me assure you that these are deserts! Though the moutain areas of Lincoln and Otero counties, in New Mexico, are "soft deserts", with the surrounding parched lowlands baking in desolation.
